Dear Members and Friends of St. Gabriel and All Angels,
Due to the current pandemic of the COVID-19 virus, we have felt it prudent for your safety and that of our community to suspend public church services for a few weeks. This includes the Lectio Divina retreat, all Sunday and mid-week Eucharists, Healing & Benediction, Rosaries and Sophia Sanctissima. Our Presiding Archbishop, William Downey, has strongly recommended these measures for all LCC churches in the USA.
We will be keeping a close eye on the developments, but as of now we feel that suspending public services through Easter is advisable. We will reassess at that time if we need to continue with the suspension.
We are offering live Internet broadcasts of our main worship services so you can stay connected with your church family at St. Gabriel and All Angels. Holy Eucharist and Rosary will go on! But only on the Internet for the time being.
We are setting up a Live Stream of Sunday Eucharist. Since all of the clergy and servers are staying at home like everyone, a very minimal team of just one clergy and 2-3 helpers will conduct Holy Eucharist on behalf of us all. You will be able to “attend Eucharist at a distance”. Indeed, since the Blessed Trinity is equally present everywhere, the spiritual connection can be sufficient and keep our heart connection strong through the difficulty.
Once we have the streaming connection set up, we will invite everyone to register for the web address (URL). More on this soon.
Lucinda plans to use Skype for the Wednesday Rosary of the Seven Rays. She will be in touch with her regular attendees. If you are not one of the regular attendees at the Rosary, let Lucinda know (her email is below) and she will add you to her list. If you need help setting up Skype, Lucinda will assist you.
We will also be posting weekly Sunday School lessons from Lucinda so the parents and children can watch them from home.
We will be posting the weekly Epistle and Gospel readings and the Collect prayer on stgabe.org each week.
Please check our website, http://stgabe.org, for timely updates which may be posted more frequently than newsletters.
If you have questions or concerns on any of this, don’t hesitate to contact:
We know that this is a trying time for everyone. We care! God will provide!
In Christ’s service,
Fr. James
